This park is famous for its green scenery, varied bird life, hippos and baboons, tree climbing lions and large herds of elephant. Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake and at certain times of the year hosts thousands of flamingos and a diversity of other bird life. Although it is one of the smallest parks, its vegetation is so diverse enabling it to host a variety of wildlife habitats. Late afternoon you will be transferred to hotel/tented camp for hot shower, dinner and overnight will take place on top of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park — Ngorongoro Crater.
A full day in the Ngorongoro Crater. This morning you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater – a wonderful haven for wildlife. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife lives within the crater, hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. Rhino, in particular, can be seen regularly as well as prides of lions and other predators like cheetahs. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard. Enjoy lunch by the hippo pond, late afternoon you will be transferred to a hotel/tented camp for a hot shower, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park — Arusha / Moshi / Airport Departure.
After early breakfast, proceed for a full day game drive at tarangire National Park and thereafter a walking safari to the park boundary will be escorted by armed rangers. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals — the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. You will thereafter have hot lunch at the lodge and have a short rest before starting a journey to Arusha town and take you to your hotel or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for flight back home.
