Although it is one of the smallest parks, its vegetation is so diverse enabling it to host a variety of wildlife habitats. The area covers 14,763 sq kms and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai 'Siringet', meaning endless plains. Here is home to millions of wildebeest during the migration and over the huge flat plains you are likely to find lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena and many other small predators. All afternoon will be spent on game drive before enjoying dinner and the experience of sleeping in the middle of the Serengeti. Overnight in Seronera (the center of the Serengeti)

The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. The large bull elephants that reside here have an extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. Arrival in Ngorongoro in the afternoon. Late afternoon you will be transferred to a hotel / tented camp for a hot shower, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater — Arusha / Moshi.

A full day in the Ngorongoro Crater. This morning you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater – a wonderful haven for wildlife. Ngorongoro is unique in that almost all the wildlife lives within the crater, hence you have the opportunity to find game easily. Rhino, in particular, can be seen regularly as well as prides of lions and other predators like cheetahs. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest. After a stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo lake, and more wildlife viewing in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater and return to Arusha / Moshi.

      Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater.
